The Branches Home Meet PLUS additional information
Good afternoon everyone!
This email is going to contain LOTS of information, so please read it in it's entirety!!!
** The swim meet tonight is our last home meet, but it is a BIG one. They are bringing 170 swimmers, so that means parking will be extra tight. To help control this, I have hired a Sandy Springs Police Officer to help monitor traffic and parking in the area. Safety of our kids is very important, so we have to make sure that our parking lot allows for emergency vehicles to enter. Please carpool when possible, and bring your patience!
** If you are a volunteer for today, please be on time. With this many swimmers, there will be a lot going on around the pavilion and pool deck - so we need to be extra prepared. We need to be prepping swimmers by 4:15 at the latest, so they can be ready for warmups. We will warm up first at 4:30 because we are the home team.
** Our end of season swim team party is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 28th at 5:30 pm. It's hard to believe that it is almost over! We will handle the party in a similar fashion to previous years. We will supply the main dish and dessert, but we ask for all families to bring a side dish to share. And... since it has been so successful over the past few years, we plan to once again include family relays! Be prepared to come swim and have a fun night with the team!
As many of you know, at the party we give the coaches a much deserved end of season bonus. If you wish to contribute to this bonus, please feel free to donate to either Tracey or myself. We will be collecting money starting today, and give this to them during the party.
** The swim-a-thon is just TWO days away. Please don't forget to register for this worthy cause. The event will take place at The Riverside Club from 4-6pm. Please see the flyers that are located throughout the pavilion or attached to previous emails.
** We have had 20 swimmers register so far for the End of Season Divisional Meet at Georgia Tech! That is more than last year, but still way under our goal. But it's NOT TOO LATE!! We have to register as a team by Friday, so please let us know ASAP if you plan to participate. It was SO much fun last year, and the kids really enjoyed swimming at Tech. Remember, it's $20/swimmer to participate, but worth every penny!
** I have received information regarding a Sandy Springs State Swim Team. Qualifying for this team would take place during the Divisional Meet at Georgia Tech. If you are interested in possibly joining this team, please let me know and I will forward you the information. I know we have had a few swimmers do this in the past.
