    MOUNTAIRE MEET - tomorrow, 6/20

Tomorrow night we have our first HOME meet of the season.  We are very excited about hosting the Mountaire Barracudas, and are looking forward to a great neighborhood meet.  I realize the weather once again looks questionable, but we will do everything in our power to get this meet in tomorrow night.   Do not change any of your plans unless you hear from Will!!  If we do have to postpone, our rain make-up day is Thursday night.  As normal, please have your swimmers arrive by 4:15 to be marked by bullpen volunteers.  Since we are the HOME team, we will warm up first at 4:30!  Parking will be tight, so please carpool when possible.  I will have a police officer on duty to help assist with parking, as we must make sure emergency vehicles could enter the property if needed.  Lastly, concessions will be offered during the meet - but they will only accept cash.  Please plan accordingly!

    SWIM-A-THON-   Wednesday 6/21

Please read this information below that was sent from Coach Will.  As he notes in this excerpt - please reply to him via email if you plan to attend!!!!  The date is THIS Wednesday 6/21!!

Hello Streaks, As some of you may know we are having our annual swim-a-thon this Wednesday from 3-5. The organization we are raising money for this year is Team Irelynn. Team Irelynn is dedicated to finding a cure for Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA). The Swim-a-thon is a fun event that we are proud to do as a team. To take donations, you can either ask contributors for an amount per lap (i.e. For $.50 a lap you would have $50 for 100 laps) or a set donation. We will have a prize for each age group for most laps swam. Please if you plan on swimming and have any questions contact me ([email protected] 404-822-9868) so I can answer and we can plan for how many drinks we will need. We had a great turnout last year and hope to do the same this year. For more information on Team Irelynn visit http://www.teamirelynn.org. Go Streaks, Coach Will

    DIVISIONAL MEET  -  Thursday 6/29

The end of swim season divisional meet is being held next week at the end of the regular season at Georgia Tech.  We have participated in this for the past several years, and it is such a GREAT way to end the swim season.  Our session this year will be Thursday 6/29 at 9am!  There will be another session that afternoon, so we should be done shortly after lunch.  While this is not mandatory, we would love to have as much participation as possible.   If you qualify for the finals based on Thursdays times, the finals will be Saturday morning.  The cost of the event is $20/swimmer, and you get to select 2 individual events.  Depending on the number of kids participating in each age group, there is also the opportunity to swim in 2 relays.  I will be setting up an RSVP option on the website for you to let us know if you plan to attend.  You will go in and RSVP just like you do for any swim meet.  In the comments section, please make sure to note which two individual events you would like to swim in for the meet.  The coaches will assign any relays based on participation.  The deadline for this registration is Thursday at 6pm.   This is also your opportunity to qualify for the state swim meet in July.  If interested in this, please note this also in your comments section so that Will can notify ASA officials correctly.  He must mark each swimmer that is trying to qualify.  And again, the deadline for this is Thursday!!  Payment can be made to Riverside Swim Team and given to either Tracey or myself prior to the next week.

LAST MEET OF THE SEASON - MONDAY 6/26 AT HOME AGAINST MARK TRAIL

END OF SEASON SWIM PARTY   -   Wednesday 6/28

The end of season swim party (wow - hard to believe season is almost over), will be next Wednesday, 6/28 at 5:30pm.  We originally planned on Tuesday (as you see on your calendar), but are having to change to Wednesday just in case of a rain make-up with Mark Trail.   The party will be at The Riverside Club.  Just like in year's past, we will provide the main course, waters and dessert.  We ask that all families bring a side of your choice.  I will set up an RSVP for this as well, just so we can get a reasonable head count.  No need to let us know what you are bringing - just let us know if you plan to attend so we will have enough food!  Last year we never got around to the family relays, much to my disappointment, so hopefully we will be able to bring that back this year.  Come dressed to participate!!!

I realize this is a LOT of information, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions and/or concerns.
